Concordia Athletics
The athletic philosophy at Concordia is to foster the physical and mental well-being of student athletes, to promote the values of fair play and ethical conduct, and to encourage participants to achieve their personal best in athletics and academics.
Our coaches are qualified professionals who balance their commitment to strong competitive teams with an appreciation for the needs of each student athlete.
Concordia offers skilled student athletes the opportunity to reach their full potential. The lessons learned here are meant to last a lifetime. Concordia is member of the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference, one of the strongest conferences in the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association. Concordia offers eight different sports for their student athletes to compete in; men's & women's golf, men's & women's cross country running, men's & women's badminton, men's hockey, men's & women's basketball, men's & women's soccer, men's & women's curling and our newest sport men's & women's volleyball which competes in the Alberta Colleges Athletics League (ACAL). Academic Information
Applicants for admission to the first year of university studies must have a minimum overall average of 60% in five appropriate grade 12 subjects, with a minimum grade of 50% in each subject. You may qualify for special admission if you are:
- 21 years of age or older without a high school diploma
- a transfer applicant from another post-secondary institution
- an applicant lacking an appropriate high school course

Who Should I Talk To?
If you are seriously interested in attending Concordia and participating on an athletic team, the first person you should make contact with is the head coach. All coaches are listed with their contact numbers and email addresses. Refer to the specific sport link found on the left and follow the link to coaching staff. It is important you contact the coach as soon as possible as they are continually identifying potential student athletes for possible roster positions. They will be able to discuss with you your potential for becoming a participating member of the Thunder athletic program.
