Coach Peacocke strives to ensure that the Concordia Thunder Hockey Program maintains a high level of professionalism with a coaching staff that has extensive experience and an excellent understanding of what it takes to effectively combine athletics and education at an elite level. Coach Peacocke brings a diverse and highly skilled background to Thunder Hockey. During his five season run with the UofA Golden Bears Hockey team, he garnered numerous accolades including a CIAU national championship and National Silver Medal. He also served as team Captain, was voted the teams most improved player and received  the Wilson Trophy as the UofA’s most outstanding male athlete. As Coach Peacocke moved from playing to coaching he had the very good fortune of being mentored by master coaches Dr. Clare Drake and Mr. Bill Moores for seven years with the Golden Bears Hockey Team.  During this time Coach Peacocke experienced his first Championship season as a coach when the team won the 1992 CIAU National Championship. As the Head Coach of Kokudo in the Japanese Professional Hockey League, coach Peacocke once again enjoyed the feeling of his team earning a championship. An amazing year of being immersed in a different culture was capped off perfectly by winning both the league and national championships. In addition to his CIS and international experience, Coach Peacocke has also spent time in the ACAC as the Head Coach of the Red Deer College Kings Hockey Program (1985-1986), the Augustana Vikings Hockey Program (2005-2006) and most recently as an Assistant Coach with the Concordia Thunder (2006-2007).

Larry Hofmann

Role: Assistant Coach

Coach Hofman brings extensive hockey experience to the Thunder staff and has been an integral part of hockey development in Canada over the past twenty-five years.  Just a few highlights of his involvement include writing curriculum for the Canadian Hockey Association Coaching Development Program, development of Hockey Alberta’s most recent Checking Program, video consultant for Hockey Canada’s Skills of Gold DVD Series, development of the coach evaluation processes for Hockey Alberta’s High Performance Program and he is actually the co-inventor of the famous “shooter-tutor”.   In addition to his involvement with Thunder Hockey, Coach Hofman currently keeps quite busy as one of Hockey Alberta’s Master Course Conductors and Provincial Mentor Leaders.  Needless to say, in order to do all this Coach Hofman is highly certified by Hockey Canada with his latest level being N.C.C.P. High Performance II.  Coach Hofman’s specific coaching experience includes extensive involvement with Alberta and Canada Winter Games teams and his involvement with Concordia dates back to 1995.  His time with Concordia has been interrupted periodically with a few forays into Women’s hockey, serving as head coach for the Edmonton Chimos Sr. AAA (1998 – 2000), Team Alberta – CWG (2002 – 2003), and the MacEwan Griffins (2004 -2007).
