The Thunder Women's Volleyball team travelled to San Diego over the Christmas break to do some training and sightseeing of the area. Playing against four other Canadian College teams – three of them ranked in the top ten in Canada – the ladies played tough and learned from the experience. Although they lost all four matches, the ladies saw what it takes to be one of the top teams in Canada and hope to build off of the experience for the second half.
Besides the volleyball, the team enjoyed an NFL game, got to spend time on the beach, explored the zoo, did some kayaking in the ocean, went downtown for supper and did some shopping. "Overall (it was) a great experience for the ladies and something they will remember for years to come," stated Coach Turner. The Thunder will return to regular season action this week when they face the NAIT Ooks. The home game goes on Saturday night at 6 PM at the RKAC.
